Straight talk
If a role isn't right, a brief isn't realistic or a move isn't in your interest, we say so. Honest advice now is what earns trust in the long run.
We started Rutilium after years of watching good commercial roles filled badly by recruiters who didn't understand the work. We knew the industry could be served better.
Our story
Before Rutilium, we worked in quantity surveying: pricing work, managing subcontractor accounts, protecting margins and negotiating with clients and subcontractors. We know the pressure of a month-end CVR and the difference a good commercial hire makes to a project.
We have also been candidates ourselves, and we remember being badly briefed and sent to interviews for roles that were never right. That experience shaped how we work: we stay within one discipline, we are honest with both sides, and we build relationships that last beyond a single placement.
How we operate
If a role isn't right, a brief isn't realistic or a move isn't in your interest, we say so. Honest advice now is what earns trust in the long run.
We recruit for one function: the commercial side of construction. Working in a single market keeps our knowledge deep and current.
Careers and hiring plans are sensitive, so nothing is shared without permission: no CV, no name, no approach.
We stay in touch through notice periods, first months and beyond. Many of the people we place later become clients, and we want those relationships to last.
